How did A Home to Rent get started?

Alessandra Agnello began operating short lets in South West London since 2000. She built a portfolio of beautiful London homes and a reputation for excellent customer service. In 2011, she founded the company A Home to Rent Ltd to manage properties in South Kensington, Chelsea, Belgravia, Fulham and Notting Hill and expanded her property hosting into Rome and Palermo, in Italy.

We have carefully selected the best apartments in London, Rome and Palermo to ensure you enjoy your stay in comfort. Our London-based team is available 24-hours-a-day, 7 days a week to ensure that your stay with A Home to Rent runs smoothly. Whether you are looking for great local restaurants or simply need help programming your television set, our team is on hand to guide you through.

We personally greet and ‘check in’ all of our guests. We believe that this personal touch is part of what makes us different from other rental companies in London, Rome and Palermo.

How do we know your company is legitimate?

I usually stay in hotels. What are the advantages of choosing an apartment?

Choosing an apartment allows you to experience the city like the locals do. It is a great way to save money. Hotels in London, Rome and Palermo are generally small and expensive and often include hidden costs. An apartment also gives you the option to dine in and entertain family and guests.

Choosing an apartment gives you plenty of space –multiple bedrooms, sitting rooms, living areas and, in some cases, access to patios and private gardens.

We also offer Free Wifi in all of our apartments and provide you with local restaurant recommendations and ideas for things to do during your stay in London, Rome and Palermo.

Are your apartments centrally located? Close to landmarks and museums?

All of our apartments are centrally located, with excellent access to transport links via underground or bus.

Can you recommend local dining options?

Yes, all of our apartments include a special guidebook with restaurant recommendations, maps and traveler tips. Our apartments are located close to restaurants, supermarkets and shops for your convenience.

Are the neighborhoods surrounding your apartments safe?

We only select apartments that are situated in clean, quiet and well-policed areas.

Are your apartments fully equipped, or do we need to bring anything?

We specially equip our apartments with everything you might need to make you feel at home. We provide clean towels and linens, appliances, dishes and cookware, all in good working order. The contents of each apartment are listed on their webpage. Our apartments generally include refrigerator/freezers, ovens, stoves, microwaves, irons and ironing boards, washing machines, dishwashers, toasters, coffee makers, kettles, televisions, hairdryers and free Wifi.

What happens if there is a problem during our stay, a broken appliance, etc.?

With an international team in London, Rome and Palermo, we are able to conduct repairs quickly and efficiently.

Are the pictures of your apartments accurate representations of what we will be renting?

Yes. We take the photos ourselves and have not used any ‘tricks’ with lighting or Photoshop. With A Home to Rent, what you see is what you get. We believe it is important that you to know exactly what you are renting to avoid any surprises when you walk through the front door.

Are the rental prices all-inclusive?

Yes. The rental price includes all bills (gas, electricity, water, TV licensing, Wifi, Council Tax), towels, linens, soap and basic household supplies.

What is your minimum length of stay in your vacation apartments?

Our minimum stay varies by apartment. It ranges from 4 nights to 1-week depending on the apartment. Please contact us to enquire about the minimum stay for your apartment of choice.

How far ahead do we need to book our stay?

We recommend that you book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. Our apartments can be booked up to a year in advance.

How do we book an apartment?

Contact our team to confirm availability. If you book more than 8 weeks in advance, we ask for a 25% deposit to hold your booking, and the rest is payable 8 weeks prior to your arrival in London, Rome or Palermo. Your security deposit is payable on the day of your arrival.

What if we have a very early or very late arrival?

A member of our team can check you into your apartment any time between 10am and 6pm on depending of the availability of the property. From 6pm to 11pm a late arrival fee of £40 must be paid in cash on arrival. Alternatively, we can arrange for a taxi from our own trusted company to bring you to your London, Rome or Palermo apartment and provide you with keys and a member of our team will be on hand to check you in the next morning.

Once we arrive in London, Rome or Palermo, how do we get in? Is there someone who will greet us, explain how things work and give us neighborhood tips?

All of our guests receive a personal greeting and check-in from a member of our team. Our representative will go over the ins and outs of the apartment with you, point out nearby landmarks and answer any questions you may have about the apartment and your stay. We feel that this ‘personal touch’ is what sets us apart from other London, Rome and Palermo apartment rental companies.

We have young children; can you provide a cot for our baby?

Yes. We have cots available on request for an additional £20 fee. Please let us know if you will require one when you make your booking.

Do you allow smoking?

No. All of our properties are non-smoking.

May we bring a small pet?

Some of our properties allow pets. Please contact us beforehand if you wish to bring a pet and we will do our best to accommodate you.

What are your cancellation policy and rental terms?

Should you need to cancel the booking, the following terms apply:

8 weeks or more in advance: 25% of booking

8 weeks or less: 100% of booking
